    Yes; every overseas Pakistani, subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions as laid down in The Import Trade and Procedure Order, 2000 can import a vehicle from abroad. However, students receiving remittances from Pakistan, non earning member of families of the Pakistani National and those who have imported/gifted vehicle during the last two years can not import a vehicle under the said Rules. The import policy is often revised from time to time, usually after every financial year. Therefore the latest updated version of import policy order must be consulted. As far as import of vehicles by passengers or overseas Pakistanis is concerned. The Personal Baggage and Gift Schemes (Import of Vehicles) Rules, 2000, Import Trade and Procedure Order, 2000 and CBR Circular No.4 of 1998 dated 03.06.1998 regarding Capital Value Tax provide details of conditions and procedural formalities

    AoA .. i am living in UAE with family since 2002 and in continuity for past 4 years (since Nov. 2006 till date). I am now moving back to Pakistan as transfer of residence and would like to know what are the charges i need to pay for bringing my car and 42inch LCD plasma TV.

    TV- CD .. Brand Electra .. purchased it brand new in 2010.

    Car - Pajero 3.5Liter ... full option ... purchased it in Sept 2010 (2010 model).

    There are many types of taxes, and most of them are very high, which in the end, costs more than a better car from Pakistan would. Just import tax is 350%. I was about to import a 2004 Nissan Fairlady Z 3.5 Roadster VT. The cars itself cost $21,000, and import tax would be about $63,000. When you convert that into Pak Rupees, it would cost somewhere over 5,460,000 rupees, when $1=65RPS. Instead of importing a vehicle, it would be much easier to find an unregistered vehicle in Pakistan, and get it registered. Hope it helps!
