   Error 5100 is means that something is wrong with the pinthead. The best explanation of this error I ever found is here and provides more than 4 different ways to fix it.

   1. I was doing a scan job and the papers in the ADF got jammed. The message which came up is “Document in ADF, press OK to discharge document” 2. Since the document was so large, I pulled out from the bottom all but a few pages 3. Now it is stuck in Document in ADF, press OK to discharge document mode 4. I have unplugged and disconnected from computer twice, but that did not work. 5. I cleaned rollers, that did not work. 6. Cannot copy or scan.
