The Canada goose is one of beautiful wild bird which has its belonging to the Branta genus, It is native to arctic and moderate area of North America. It has a black head and neck with fabulous white patches on the face, and a brownish-gray body. This species is abundantly present in North America. It breeds in Canada and the northern United States in several habitats. Its nest is normally situated in an elevated area near water, for instance streams, lakes, ponds and sometimes on a beaver lodge. Its eggs are laid in a shallow depression lined with plant substance and down. The Great Lakes area has a very large numbers of Canada Geese. The black head and neck with white patches differentiate the Canada goose from all other goose classification, with the exception of the Barnacle Goose, but It has a black breast, and also grey merge, rather than brownish, body plumage. Seven subspecies are also available which have different sizes and plumage characteristics, but all are termed as Canada Geese. Few of the smaller races can be hard to differentiate from the newly-separated Cackling Goose. This genus has the approximate length about 76–110 centimetres and 127–180 centimetres wingspan. The male normally weighs 3.2–6.5 kilograms and can be very aggressive in their own territory. The female looks similar identical but usually lighter in weight and smaller than its male size. Additionally it has a different honk. The life span of the wild of geese is about 10–24 years.
