I am planning to purchase an iphone 4. I have not used iphone before. I got to know that it only works with Apple defined mobile carrier. Please tell me that apple iphone can be used on other carriers or not. Thanks!

The iphone 4 can work on any carrier if it is not locked to any particular network. The iPhone 4 is a very sensitive touchscreen smartphone manufactured by Apple. It is the fourth generation of iphone and is launched after iPhone 3GS. It is best for video calling. You can find many other functions in the phone such as periodicals, books, music, movies, and games, and internet for general web and e-mail access. It was first exhibited, at the WWDC 2010 held at the Moscone Center, San Francisco on June 7, 2010. The iphone released in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan on June 24, 2010. The operating system of the iPhone 4 is Apple's iOS. It has got the same operating system as installed on previous versions of iPhones, the iPod Touch, and the iPad. You can primarily control iphone by using your fingertips on the multi-touch display. Display of the iphone is very sensitive to the contact of fingertips. It has a new uninsulated stainless steel frame design that works as the antenna of the device. It is the major difference between the iPhone 4 and its predecessors. The internal parts of the apple mobile are placed between two panels of chemically strengthened aluminosilicate glass. The iphone has an Apple A4 processor and 512 MB of eDRAM which is twice that of its previous versions and four times that of the original iPhone. It has 3.5-inch (89 mm) LED backlit liquid crystal display with a 960×640 pixel resolution, marketed as the "Retina Display".
