Can I use my ammplifier i have as the studio monitor in my recording studio i'm building?

OK, so I'm building a recording studio in my room. I was wondering if i could use the amplifier I have as the studio monitor.

honestly your best bet would be to save up for a pair of powered monitors like krk monitors or mackie because when mixing you want the cleanest sound possible especially if you're going beyond it being a hobby. i would also recommend getting sound cancelling headphones. you can use your amp but think of your amp as a way to Gage what the mix will sound like on basic speakers, play your music in the car and on your stereo and you'll get what I'm saying.

Yes you can, but you DON'T want to. Amps and even PA speakers are not going to give you an accurate sound when you are mixing, mastering, and editing. Live sound and processed sound are two different things, and they take two different types of speakers to play back. Thus having specific studio monitors is very beneficial.



You can purchase some cheap M-Audio's that won't break the bank, and will give you a much more accurate sound than that amp will.

no, use a 24track digital multi track recorder



with powered monitors, i have samson resolve 80 a's, there great, i suggest you use headphones when recording vocals.
