    A boat carrying 57 suspected asylum seekers has been intercepted east of the Ashmore Islands in Australia. Another boat carrying 145 people was intercepted last week and it is also being brought to the mainland but the Government will not say where. The Government says the passengers will be taken to a detention centre on the Australian mainland for identity and background checks. It is the third boat to arrive in less than two weeks. Immigration Minister in Australia said that asylum seekers taken to the mainland would still be processed through offshore regulations.
