Buttons do not work as the book indicates

When in TV mode, pushing the set button does not bring up a Menu. I do get a menu in the DVD mode. Pushing the set button in TV goes from steady to blinking display only. It will not let me select TV std etc but is in the A mode. The off air antenna is what I am trying to get to work and it seems to require considerable signal to lock so you can see any picture at all. Is there a way to reset the software? Thanks for any help.LarryB227
