Brown discharge. Ok so I went for my yearly pap 2 weeks ago. My gyno said I had a yeast infection

Ok so I went for my yearly pap 2 weeks ago. My gyno said I had a yeast infection although the only syntom I had was the clumpy discharge and that only lasted one day. So I went and bought the cream and a day after I started bleeding. Then it just kept getting worse and worse to the point where it was as much as my period. I decided to finish the medication anyways but now there's still lots of brown discharge. It's heavier than just spotting. I've been on the same birth control for 3 years and my period isn't due for about a week so I know it's not my period I went to the doctor and she just sent me away after not knowing. I'm going to see my gyno but I still ws hoping for some insight?
