I am considering buying a Brambach baby grand piano. The owner of the piano got it passed down in the family and doesn't know much about it. How would one go about finding the serial numbers, where is it located on the Brambach baby grand piano. From there how can I find out more info about it. Thanks!

The best way to find out age, condition, and price of pianos is to call a technician. The trained eye of a technician is usually able to spot pros/cons, and educate about the piano. That being said, look through one of the holes in the metal plate inside the piano, I have seen S.N. marked on the sound board of Brambachs. Or get a flash light and look under the piano at case work. Sometimes you can find a S.N. there. If still no luck unscrew the key slip ( the wooden board covering the front of the keys, screws are accessed under key bed under front of piano) once this board is removed sometimes you can find a S.N. on this board. Other than that, if you can't find the S.N. it is best to call a tech. I have worked on two Brambach pianos. I can say that they were popular around the great depression. They were popular for there small physical size and price size. They were designed for the average family to purchace and fit into a small home. This Brand has a bad rep due to poor quality and parts that are not typical among most pianos, even pianos this age.
