   Mathew B. Brady one of the most renowned 19th century American photographers, best known for his portraits of VIPs and his documentation of the American Civil War. He is known as father of photojournalism. Despite being a simple man, Abraham Lincoln liked being photographed. He acknowledged the compelling power of the photograph, and frequented developing photo studios.
