Bosch AquaStar AQ-125-BNG tankless water heater

I have a Bosch AquaStar AQ-125-BNG tankless water heater.

It has worked very well until recently.

The problem: The hot water at the tap is turned off, the flame on the main burner keeps burning and eventually overheats and completely shuts off including the pilot light.

Any ideas?

    In the manual, it states the maintenance procedure that needs to be done about once per year. It involves lubrication of a small pin inside the water valve. Make sure you use white lithium grease as stated in the manual.
