Assassin's Creed 2 Glyphs

I'm currently stuck on glyphs 17 (The Bunker) and 18 (Synapses)"

17 depends on the number of strokes.
At first I thought that the wheel would work if you align the circle with to 1 (a single stroke) but that didn't work. Anyone have a solution?

18 I'm totally stumped. I moved to it thinking I could just come back to 17 and just gawked at the incomprehensible symbols. It's the one with images of a brain.

#17 7= the one that is almost a square and has a diagnol line going through it. has 5 sides. 9= the one that looks like a bowtie. has 6 sides. 1= the one that looks like two squares inside each other. has 8 sides. Put the < on the four, so the two empty spaces are on the 1 and 7. The number equivilant to the sign is the number of sides the sign has. ----------------------------- the creed sign is in the upper right on the corner of the roof behind the branches. ________________________________________________________________ #18 6= the one with 3 Y's. equals 3. 0= the one with 1 < and 7 Y's. equals 17. 3= the one with 3 <'s and 1 Y. equals 31. (the Y's are one and the <'s are 10) Take the one Y and move it to 5 so the two blank ones are on 0 and 3. starting with the one Y (1) add it to the first numbber in the other box (+2) then the next (3+6) and so on.
