We bought four wood ladderback side chairs with rush seats from a Wisconsin church where they told us they were “hand carved 18th century Spanish chairs”. The rungs at the top and bottom of the seat are decorative. At the top of the chair is a round wood “plaque” in between the decorative posts with an insignia of what looks like a crown with flowers below it. After looking at numerous websites and books from the library, the only thing I found was on rubylane.com where they showed an almost exact replica of what I have. The only difference is their’s is an arm chair. They reference it as a “hand carved Spanish chair from 1900-1920 and it’s 48.5" tall, 23" wide, 20.5" deep, and the measurement from the floor to the top of the seat is 17". Could this be from the 18th century or more likely be a replica? How much do you think these are worth? Thanks.
