   There is a specific code which is written on the tyre and it specifies the dimensions of the tyre. This code specifies the load bearing ability and maximum speed of the tyre. There is a specific information which is written in the inside of the wall and the inside information is not visible on the outer side of the wall.
   The significance of code has grown over the years and it is the mix of metric and imperial units, and also consists of ad-hoc lettering and numbering schemes. New automotive tyres have ratings for traction, tread wear and temperature resistance known as “The Uniform Tire Quality Grade which is also known as UTQG ratings. The European Tyre and Rim Technical Organization which is also known as (ETRTO), the Tire and Rim Association(TRA) are the two organizations which are the standard setters for different types of tyres.
   The ISO Metric tyre code consists of string of letters and numbers which are as follows:
   An optional letter which indicate use for the tire is as follows:
   P stands for Passenger Car, or it denotes Passenger Car, LT stands for Light Truck or it denoted Light Truck, ST stands for special Trailer or it denotes Special Trailer, T stands for Temporary Space Saver. There are different types of codes such as 3 digit codes, 2 or 3 digit codes . DOT Codes are 10 to 12 digits long. The one you supplied my tells me it was made in Mexico, the size is 30X9.50R15LT and a code that I can't decipher - what's missing is the date code.
