I bought new tires for my car less than a year ago. And where I work, I am very paranoid now about the tires on my car. How can I tell when my tires were manufactured? And what how long a tyre can go any idea.

Age of tyre is dependent on the usage of tyre. some people drive very smoothly and some people are fast and furious. So the age of tyre will vary according to your driving style because if you like to drift around quite often then your tyres will end very sooner and if you drive smoothly then age of tyre is approximately 80,000 to 100,000 kilometers.

Now how to determine that what is the manufacturing year of the tyre. That is also not a big deal you can check it by your own. It is written there on the tyre. Every tyre has got DOT codes which are 10 to 12 in numbers. the code is usually a mix of digits and numbers. The first 2 digits are about the manufacturer. Next two digits tells about the size of the tyre. Next three or 4 digits reflects the type of tyre. The ending 3 or 4 digits show you the manufacturing year. Like say if the tyre is manufactured in 2008 it will be mentioned there as 08.
Hope that your idea about tyres will be complete now because that is all what is there in the tyre.
