I've got an Acer Aspire 5315 laptop.
During the rainy season when there is more humidity in the air (I'm
living in Himalayan Heights in North of India) the LCD screen gets
sometimes into a strange mode. On the white background areas it shows
flimmering strong pinky-red pattern and on the black areas flimmering
strong neon-green pattern. For example when the Windows is booting up,
the whole background on the first screen with Acer logo is pink, and
then when Windows logo is visible during booting up, the background is
green (instead of black). Once the Windows is fully booted, the same
colours are appearing in applications' windows that have white or black
backgrounds.
When I run a room heater for a while during the day and/or run some CPU
demanding programs that tend to increase the internal heat (e.g.
antivirus scanning for 1-2 hours) then the display goes back to normal.
Sometimes it stays in the normal mode for longer time, sometimes goes
back to distorted colours next time I boot up.
When I do SHIFT Print Screen at that times (or capture the screen with a
software), the graphic file that is generated shows just normal colours.
Sometimes the screen would not show anything at all, but then after a
while it goes back into the above mentioned way of display.
An external LCD screen shows always everything in normal colours.
What is this problem possibly caused by?
How to fix it?
Is there any part that is faulty?
