A question about Barry.

I have my question regarding the former wife of Barry Manilow, Susan Deixler, who lives up the coast in California. Once my neighbour said several years ago she saw Susan in a market. My question is that does Barry keep in touch with her at all, considering that she lives so close? I do not think she ever remarried, as no one can take the place of Barry in her heart. I just was wondering why Barry seems to alienate himself from certain members of his family like his stepdad and from his half brother, Tim Kelleher, who lives in California. What are your thoughts on this?

As far as what the news say, Barry used to keep in touch with Susan. It is very much true that Susan did re-marry and went on to have children. Talking about Barry alienating himself, he has been getting along quite well with Willie Murphy, his Step-Father, but as time goes on, things do slip away and being step related, perhaps the bonds are never so tight. As for Tim Kelleher, Barry never knew Tim, as he never kept contact with his biological Father. Barry has met Tim, and it may be Tim that has decided to keep their relationship muted. When it comes to Families, especially when divorce and step or half siblings are involved, it can stir up a lot of negative emotion as well as the positive. For all of his Family turmoil, Barry has turned out a well adjusted and talented guy, and because of his life experiences, maybe that is why, when he sings, he really communicates with us and can touch us in a unique way.
