It seemed like the car was taking each gear up higher in the rpm band to go the same speed. I've had this car for 7 years and know exactly where the rpms should be at each speed and all of the speeds are off. Here are the differences: 1. idle now at 1000, used to be 700. 2. 60mph rpm=2500, used to be 2000. 3. 70mph rpm=3000, used to be 2500. 4. slow driving shift points usually at 2200 or less, now around 2800. 5. am not getting normal "jump" or "thrust" when I hit the gas quick, cannot make wheels chip like normal when stomping on gas. The tranny is shifting perfectly smooth with no inconsistencies, it's not like its holding a gear, its like the engine is making less power. The car has 126k with everything original exept for plugs, wires, pcv valve, fuel and air filter. What do you think could be the problem?
