6 month old yorkie

I just got a 6 month old yorkie from a animal welfare and he was doing alot of sneezing. That seemed to subside somewhat however we just came back form a walk/jog and he is gagging and a small amount of white, frothy, sputum is coming out. It would be great if someone could shed some light on this for me.
