Hi I have new tundra with 255-70-18 tires on 18x8 inch steel rims. I want to upgrade to a rim that only comes in 18x9 inch. Can I safely use these tires on the new rims? Do you have any idea about up gradation? Share your knowledge about this topic. I have searched a lot but still I need some reliable information. Thanks

Hello
The allowable rim width range for a P255/70R18 is 6 1/2 to 8 1/2. So, no, this is not a good fitment. This is a good combination for your car.
But if you change the tire size to P265/65R18 that will fit on the rim and still have the same load carrying capacity. Remember always go for a compatible series of tires, as it matter a lot when it comes to car speed. No matter how good the tires are, but if they are not compatible with your car then it is quite difficult to get outstanding results.
The only question will be - Will it fit on your vehicle? And I am sorry, but I cannot tell you the answer to that question, but the folks that are selling you the rim should be able to - unless they really are not doing the professional job they ought to. I hope I have answered you very well. if you have something in your mind, than share with me. Feel free to question here. I am always happy to be of your help.
Thanks
