I've tried heat, hammer, 8mm bolt, many liquid rust removers, caliper/carriage (one piece) are off and clear. Hub is still on. Is there something Mazda specific to do?

Just keep bashing with a sledge hammer. It helps if you remove the brake caliper first, and hang it out of the way. You can also use a 3-arm puller, but bashing from behind and penetrating oil will eventually loosen them up and they will come off. You do NOT need to remove the center nut, you only need to remove the whee nuts.
