Changing belts, idler pulleys and belt tensioners is getting old and the guy at the parts store is getting fed up with me. The problem comes and goes. Engine has about 200K miles and a remanufactured alternator on it.All accessories and their pulleys seem tight but the problem chirp keeps rearing its ugly head. Any ideas?

install a goodyear gatorback belt. I had replaced the belt 4 times with gm, gates, dayco--they all were quiet for a couple of days-then the chirp was back. tried a goodyear-problem solved after putting up with the noise for 5 years. 2001 chev suburban 2500- 8100 engine. Hope it works for you. Ernie
