1997 Dodge Caravan Input Turbine Speed Sensor

re: 1997 dodge caravan 3.8L - could an " input turbine speed sensor " cause the " service engine light" to come on and also seems like the transmission feels sluggish when it comes on? Is there any other sensors I should look at?
