I started truck. It died when put in reverse and blew the 40amp IGN fuse under hood. Was told to change neutral safety switch. Not sure how to set. Keeps blowing fuse when attempting to start. Won't start. Help, please.

Hi, Ok the 40 amp fuse in question actually splits into to other circuits after it leaves the fuse. One goes to the starter relay and the other goes to the ignition switch. Because the ignition switch will then power up multiple items........it a gain splits into at least 2 more fuses, we need to try and determine when this fuse is blowing. Does it blow when the key is turned to the run position? Or, does it blow when the key is turned to the start position? If this is a dead short.........meaning it is there all the time then it should be easy to figure out. If this is intermittant you may need to separate the 2 circuits by wiring in another inline fuse for each of those circuits and see which one blows..........then we know which circuit we need to trace.
