Hi, Bustled off to work early, immediately hit some nasty traffic on the freeway, got off at the next exit and navigated the back streets to the train station. So in order to make up for lost time I skipped my preferred café and tried the one across the street from the office. Not only did I end up with an inferior drink, I also got inferior change. OK, well, there is not really anything wrong with a 1987-D Quarter, but it is also nothing new and I have posted one before. …so. I'm posting a second coin. This one wasn't found in the daily pocket change. Wasn't found at all. It was unashamedly bought straight from the mint. Not even the U.S. Mint, and it's not a circulation coin… so what gives? Doesn't this contradict my entire collection of coins? Well, yes. But it's not really my coin, I'm just a temporary caretaker. My wife loves rats. Absolutely adores them. So when I saw that the New Zealand mint had a commemorative Year of The Rat coin… well, I knew I had to buy one for her.
