1983 mercedes 380 sel won't start

installed new cap/rotor,had coil tested installed new battery
still no start,sprayed starter fluid in carb,just backfired with air cleaner cover off.

    Hi There, Take it to a shop that does free diagnosing. my guess would be one of the O2 sensors is bad. Thank you
