I have a question regarding the 1973 Chevrolet 350. I want to know which spark plugs should best suit the 1973 Chevy 350 and what should be the proper gap between the spark plugs.

For the most part though, there really aren't that many plug numbers that Chevy used on the SBCs. Heat range is only a hopeful stab at what will work and you really need to check that the plugs are running well after a time. Other things like platinum, spitfire and so forth are more gimmicks for extending the life than anything else. A Range of Champion Spark Plugs for Chevy SBC (Small Block Chevy) & BBC (Big Block Chevy) Engines including 283ci, 305ci, 307ci, 327ci, 350ci, 396ci, 400ci, 402ci, 427ci and 454ci. 1957-1993.The specific engine design will determine the heat range of the plug. As such, any particular statement on which plug to use is purely a recommendation on what to start with. The important part with plugs though is to make sure that the plug is the right length of threads and the right type of seal at the top. After that, there are heat range choices as well as types of center electrodes. The interesting thing is that a lot of the changes in the plug characteristics as to center electrode metal and so forth are more just to make the plugs last longer, supposedly fire the fuel mix better and so forth. Chevrolet covers all V8 sizes with a gap of 0.035 with plugs (Optional) R44T. Besides, the points should be set for 30 degrees dwell. A gap of 0.019 and for used points 0.016 on v-8's turn adjusting s***w clockwise until engine misfires; then back off 1/2 turn.
