I am looking for a movie that was made in 1970. My sister-in-law insists it was her favorite movie when she was younger but does not know the title or actors. All she remembers is it was about an ice skater who fell in love with a hockey player. It is not the newer movie that was made in the 80s or 90s. She insists it was in the 70s. I would like to surprise her with it. Do you have any clues as to what she is talking about?

No doubt, there are different movies which are made on ice skating and quite interesting as well. Ice Castles, starring Robby Benson and Lynn-Holly Johnson, was made in 1978, and that is the only movie I can think of that fits that description.
The movie is based on the story of a character named Alexis. The story revolves around here rise and fall in this career. Movie is a mixture of tragedies, romance, and emotions. Overall the movie is good and worth of praise, especially when he career sucks due to an unprecedented accident.
Alexis loses her sight due to this tragic event, leaving her to hide away in the privacy of her own despair. But she shows here courage and survives the odds of her life in the end. Here is the Internet Movie Database page on it
