The condition that you are describing is called submissive urination, and it is not a house holding problem. What is going on is that the dog is experiencing strong emotions, for instance fright or submission, and the stress makes it pee. This type of urination mostly happened with younger dogs, and among female dogs. There are two types of urination in dogs, one is fright and the second is submission. The fright or submission type of urination can be diagnosed easily by analyzing the context in which the incidents happen. Submissive urination usually happens when a dog thinks it is threatening situation, such as when it is scolded or reprimanded. It can also be triggered by someone unknowingly displaying dominant behavior to the dog. While on the other hand excitement urination usually happens during greetings and play, but does not involve submissive actuations. These types ‘of problems may clear up on their own as the dog grows and one more things on your part avoid punishments and unwitting reinforcement. However if you are already doing all these and dog is not showing any improvement and still have same signs of urination, then you can consult your vet for having a complete checkup because it may have some urinary tract infections.
